Scientifica VistaScope
The award winning, premier solution for multiphoton imaging, allowing you to see more cells, more clearly than ever before.
Use the VistaScope’s two identical scan paths to combine photostimulation and imaging, independent of wavelength. With an impressive 40mm field number, the VistaScope boasts multiphoton micro- and meso-scale imaging capabilities, at a microscope price tag.
The VistaScope was recognised as one of the best microscopy innovations in the 2022 Microscopy Today Innovation Awards.
产品优势
Field of view of the Scientifica VistaScope compared to its closed competitor and the current de facto industry standard FN22.
Industry-leading field of view
The VistaScope’s industry-leading field of view enables imaging of different brain regions simultaneously, and investigation of larger networks and larger model organisms.
Using standard, objectives, you can see twice as many cells, acquire more data, faster than previously possible, and see functional responses that you couldn’t previously see.
Rather than imaging individual areas separately and then stitching them together, you can image the areas simultaneously. With no need to stitch together data after imaging, time is saved and data accuracy is increased.
A 1.8mm field of view is fulfilled using a 16x objective, and near-meso performance is achieved using a 10x objective, with a monumental 2.9mm field of view.
Imaging the mouse cortex with the VistaScope, using 16x and 10x objectives.
Bridging the micro-meso gap
Mesoscopes allow structures in the mm to cm range to be imaged at micron resolution, allowing entire cortical areas in mice to be imaged with cellular resolution, so dynamics of different brain regions can be correlated.
However, mesoscopes do not allow imaging with high resolution, many are limited to a narrow wavelength range, and they are often extremely expensive.
The VistaScope combines the flexibility of a multiphoton microscope that enables high resolution imaging over a wide wavelength range, with the large field of view of mesoscopes, at an affordable, multiphoton microscope price. Meso-scale imaging can be performed without needing a dedicated mesoscope. This maximises your experimental possibilities, whilst remaining cost-effective.
Modular and customisable design: A truly future-proof system
The upgradeable design of Scientifica’s imaging systems continues, allowing the VistaScope to be customised to suit your specific requirements, either at the point of purchase or later down the line.
The VistaScope simply integrates with the HoloStim-3D Spatial Light Modulator, as well as the FLIM Upgrade Kit.
A second scan path can be added when required, and RG or GG systems can be upgraded to RGG at a later date.
Start with a SliceScope or a HyperScope, and simply upgrade to a VistaScope when your experiments change. This is a simple and affordable way to maximise the use of your equipment, reusing as many existing components as possible for cost-efficiency and sustainability.
Integrate electrophysiology components, including manipulators and staging, to combine electrophysiology and imaging on one system.
This gives you complete flexibility, with the ability to perform multiple experiments using the same, compact system.
The power of mROI imaging: Five regions of interest (ROIs) imaged simultaneously using resonance-galvo-galvo (RGG) scanning, overlaid over locations in the image of the full FOV they correspond to. The image shows a 1.8mm square region of mouse somatosensory cortex, layer II/III expressing GCaMP6s. The insets are expanded by 1.5x to allow more detail to be seen.
Applications
The versatility of the VistaScope means it has a variety of applications as standard, as well as being expanded further when required:
- Two-photon imaging - both in vivo and in vitro, functional and structural
- Two-photon photostimulation - both in vivo and in vitro, including uncaging and optogenetics
- Simultaneous imaging and photostimulation
- Three-photon imaging - both in vitro and in vivo, functional and structural
- Extendable to include a HoloStim-3D
- Can be expanded for fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM)
- Can be integrated with electrophysiology components to enable electrophysiology and imaging to be combined
